Porcelain veneers are very conservative dental restorations that can change the shape of teeth, change the color of teeth, or even rearrange misaligned teeth. They are bonded to the front part of the natural teeth.

Crowns are like "gloves" that fit on natural teeth. A crown is made to fit snuggly to a tooth and is sealed with dental cements. Crowns can be made of different materials. The most cosmetic and most life like looking crowns are made of porcelain without a metal liner. However, many of the newer type crowns with gold metal liners can have a natural lifelike look.

Many patients have spaces between their teeth. Spaces can be closed in one of three ways. Free hand sculptured bonding with composite plastics is the least expensive. Porcelain Veneers would normally be the second choice but is more expensive. Finally, Porcelain Crowns can also be used to close spaces and would be the most expensive.

A bridge is a dental restoration that may replace one or more missing teeth. Fixed bridgework is not removable by the patient. It feels very much like natural teeth during the chewing process. Also, when properly done, even teeth that are missing in the front of a mouth can be replaced in such a way that the bridge looks like real teeth.
